The alarming prevalence of domestic abuse, also known as intimate partner violence, extends globally. According to the CDC, about 41% of women and 26% of men have encountered violence from an intimate partner. These statistics are inherently skewed due to underreporting, driven by various factors such as fear of disbelief, hesitancy among minority groups based on past experiences with authorities, and men feeling ashamed to admit vulnerability.
If you believe that you or someone you know might be experiencing intimate partner violence, please visit the National Domestic Violence Hotline at or call at 800.799.7233 if you are concerned about your internet usage being monitored.
