Twins fascinate us, especially when they are identical. Twins have been studied for many years, both psychologically and physiologically. The most memorable and horrific of these studies was conducted by Josef Mengele, the Nazi “Angel of Death” at the Auschwitz Death Camp. Other studies have followed sets of twins from birth into adulthood. Many of these studies followed identical twins who were separated at birth and raised apart, to try to determine if a person’s personality traits were a result of nature versus nurture. In many cases, it is definitely nature. We could devote an entire podcast to the fascinating psychology of twins, but we are going to focus on twins who murder together.
